Antonis PorichisGroup Leader
From an early age Antonis has been fascinated by how intelligence evolves in humans and whether it will be possible to reverse engineer it and transplant it into machines. At Innora, he is leading the computer vision and machine learning teams. His current project involves developing 3D computer vision and image texture analysis for outdoor environments. Antonis is also involved in designing the control software architecture of a hexapod robotic subsea trencher.
With many years of experience under his belt, he is also an integral member of Innora's core business development team. Antonis is a DipEng from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and his honor thesis addressed the surgeons’ decisional process; Antonis used a combination of generative models and unsupervised learning to model the doctor’s decisional process during laparoscopic surgery. His work earned him the superior honors thesis award for his class year. In his free time he enjoys soccer and strategy based video games.
Panos ChatzakosManaging Director
Panos is the founder and CEO of Innora. In late 2008 he and a small group of recent NTUA graduates begun building robots in the garage of his home in suburban Athens. Over the following years he singlehandedly built Innora, an engineering consultancy selling its services to SMEs, research institutes, private investors, management consultancies, and to venture capitalists. Panos has been actively involved in new high-tech companies born via spins, offering advice, mentoring, and in many cases setting business strategy. He is also an active investor in the emerging local start-up scene.
Panos received his DipEng, MA, and PhD in Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He also holds a MA (hons) in Finance from ALBA graduate business school. Panos is the main author or co-author of more than 30 research papers in the field of design and control, and the recipient of numerous awards in robotics. In his sparse free time he is leading Innora’s 5x5 co-ed soccer team. He is passionate about entrepreneurship and has done pro-bono work, designing and delivering programs for socially disadvantaged persons.
Costas AnastassiadisBusiness Development Head
Costas is an entrepreneur and is leading Innora’s business development effort. He has over 20 years of experience across industries, ranging from garments and hospitality to contemporary art and management consulting. Costas started his career as a consultant for Price Waterhouse in Chicago, and upon his return home he co-founded a series of business ventures. In the last couple of years he has been actively involved in the local start-up scene advising and mentoring a new crop of entrepreneurs.
He received his BA in Economics from Northwestern University and his senior thesis – written under the tutelage of the late Nobel Prize winner Dale T. Mortensen – was the recipient of the Economics Department annual award. He has given interviews to media outlets such as Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, ARD/WDR, and to the Schweizer Radio and Fernsehen. In his spare time he enjoys contemporary art, reading, and playing basketball with his six year old son.
Harris DimitriadisPrincipal Project Manager
Harris first computer was an IBM 8086 and since then he has never ceased tangling with PCB designs and writing embedded code. It is no surprise then that at Innora he designs and simulates electronics circuits, specialty PCB designs and low power electronics. Harris’ other skill set involves low level embedded programming and code optimization.
Harris received his DipEng in Electrical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He is a certified ISO 27001 auditor and serves as the information security officer at Innora. In his spare time he is on a mission to transform his suburban apartment into a ‘smart home’ by re-programming microstructures.
Vasilis PapadimitriouGroup Leader
Vasilis leads project management at Innora. He is responsible for setting milestones and deliverables, communicating to partners and clients, and making sure that the project’s budget stays on target. His current challenge is to make a rover-like robot test the structural integrity of rotary blades, used in wind turbines, by utilizing ultra-sonic sensors.
Vasilis received both his Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and his MSc in Automation Systems from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He is a theater goer and enjoys a good literary story in his free time.
Tasos ChatziloukasGroup Leader
Tasos leads the embedded software group at Innora. He designs PCBs and writes embedded code and is responsible for the overall delivery and management of all projects under his field of expertise. Currently, his team is solving a luminance optimization problem; how to enhance the lighting of different workstations by taking into account user preferences and sensory data from the work environment.
He studied mechanical engineering and graduated with a DipEng from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). Tasos’ hobby makes him better at his work. He is designing the PCBs of a score of heat sensors destined for his self-made smart home. Tasos is also passionate about photography.
Nikos MakrisSenior Project Manager
At Innora Nikos divides his time between technical management and writing proposals for EU funded research projects. He has deep understanding of NDT techniques and in one of his running projects he leverages acoustic emissions to identify the structural defects of drilling systems.
Nikos received his BSc and PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He is an ardent basketball and soccer fan.
Eva PantelakiExecutive Administrator
Eva maintains harmony in the office, she keeps the workplace running like a well-oiled engine. From correspondence and electronic archiving to purchasing, event planning, and HR, Eva is accustomed to wearing multiple hats and making sure everything is on schedule and according to Innora’s specs.
She received her BA in Sociology from the American College of Greece and her MSc in Marketing from Leicester University. Eva is a big football fan and a season ticket holder of the Panathinaikos football club.
Giannis RoditisPrincipal Engineer
Giannis’ core expertise is the mechanical design of robots. At Innora, he is involved in everything that moves but if need arises, he might jump into some low level software development. In his current project he designs the control software of a six legged robotic prototype.
Giannis studied mechanical engineering and received his MSc in Control Systems from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). In his limited spare time he dreams of bringing to life living mechanisms by a mere press of a button.
Fanis NitsosMechanical Engineer
Fanis is a mechanical engineer by training but is accustomed to wearing multiple hats at Innora. He has gained experience in technical and project management as well as in writing EU grant proposals. His current project is teaching a six-legged walking robot how to move in subsea terrain.
He is a DipEng from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and a devoted swimmer.
Dimitris BoulougarisSenior Engineer
Dimitris is a machine-to-machine embedded programmer. He is using his programming skills in a project which aims to mechanically – and with the assistance of a radar - control the brakes of airport trucks to avoid collision with airplanes.
He received his BA in Automation Engineering from the Technological Institute of Piraeus and in his free time he enjoys sailing, scuba, and boxing. Dimitris is also an amateur saxophone player.
Nikos develops the control software for service robots, designs human-machine applications, and writes the code that makes machines talk to each other. At Innora he is the senior software engineer and currently part of the team which designs and crafts the working prototype of a six legged robot destined to release high voltage cables in the deep seas.
Nikos received both his Bachelor in Computer Systems Engineering and his MSc in Evolutionary & Adaptive Systems from the University of Sussex. He also holds a PhD in Informatics from the University of Edinburgh. His research interests encompass evolutionary computation, neural networks, autonomous robotic agents, and complex networked software systems. He is an avid cyclist and in his free time he writes code for video games.
Manthos AlifragisPrincipal Engineer
Since boyhood Manthos has been fascinated by the interaction between humans and machines. At Innora he specializes in software development and creates graphical user interfaces for mobile operating systems, such as Android and iOS. Prior to Innora he has worked as computer engineer in the automotive industry for clients such as Ford, Hyundai, and Daimler AG.
Manthos received his PhD from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and his thesis explored virtual 3D reconstruction and object registration by using computational vision techniques. He has a registered patent at the European Patent Office.
Nikolaos FanakisSenior Engineer
Nikolaos designed his first single layer circuit board at the age of ten, and printed his first PCB at thirteen. At Innora, he is the analog and power electronics expert and his skill set encompasses a number of programming languages as well as in depth knowledge of embedded and wireless communications protocols. Prior to Innora, Nikolaos has been a systems/ software engineer for various firms.
Nikolaos received his BA from the University of Sussex and his MSc in Embedded Systems Engineering from Heriot-Watt University. In his free time he is designing and assembling tube power stereo amplifiers and speakers..
Nikos MarinosSenior Engineer
Nikos is an embedded systems analyst. He is currently writing the code for a wireless MESH network which will allow sensors to relay information to multiple light sources and optimize the brightness destined to workstations placed in open space.
Prior to Innora, Nikos worked for the TWI Institute in the UK. He received his BA in Physics and an MSc in Electronics and Automation from the University of Athens. In his spare time he designs field-programmable gate arrays.
Fragkiskos LarozasSenior Designer
An industrial engineer by training and an avid product designer, Fragkiskos is the youngest member of Innora's team. At the moment, he is designing the user interface for a smart dog collar; an application to be released in Android and iOS platforms.
He graduated from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) with a degree in industrial engineering and in his free time he enjoys digital painting.
Thanasis MaragkosEngineering Technologist
Thanasis is a member of the embedded software team of Innora. He designs, develops, assembles, tests, debugs, and prints PCBs. He is also the purchasing manager for all hardware and software at Innora. Thanasis is the go-to person when things seem to fall apart in our workstations. Time and time again he has proved that he can handle the most obscure intricacies of any operating system.
Prior to joining Innora Thanasis has made a name for himself in the demanding luxury charter yachts business, where he kept the computer networks of a small fleet humming without compromising security while maintaining network speed. He graduated with a BSc in Automation Engineering from the Technological Institute of Piraeus. He is a SSI certified open water diver and an avid sailor.
Maria KorreAccount Manager
Maria is part of the customer account and business development teams. Managing client relationships, supporting the sales team coupled with substantive market research are her daily core functions. In her prior work she developed a deep understanding of wind energy sector investments. She worked in all segments of the value chain, from the ‘greenfield’ stage all the way to the full implementation of the wind farm.
Maria graduated with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the Technological Institute of Crete. She is an avid Ashtanga-Vinyasa yoga practitioner.
Panagiotis ChatzidakisApplication Engineer
Panagiotis is Innora’s application engineer. He acts as the main liaison between the sales and the engineering groups ensuring that expectations are met on all sides. He also matches clients’ needs with the guidelines and prerequisites of EU grant proposals. In some projects, Panagiotis serves also as an automation engineer (PLC, SCADA).
Prior to Innora, he worked for a major hotel chain and developed an information system handling water quality data from hundreds of swimming pools. Panagiotis received his degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of Patras. He is an amateur acoustic guitar player.
